Tips

Trackday's photos
are good memories of a fun day and something to show to friends
how good and brave we are to ride the bike. In addition, they offer
a way to improve our riding. I am sure you agree with me that riding
skill is shown particularly when entering a turn. And when entering
a turn, the body position plays an important role to stabilize the
bike. If you have the chance to look at the photos, I suggest you
to study those picturing you and check the position of your body,
your legs, your shoulders and your arms. Is your body properly positioned
when you lean the bike? Are your arms too rigid? Are the elbows
down, as they should be to lower the center of gravity? If you see
any areas of improvements try to apply next time.

Many of you who ordered prints from me requested
if it was possible to crop the image and clean the background. More
, to remove the AZTrackday number and the masking tape used to cover
the head light and other parts of the bike. I always try to accommodate
the request but in some case it is not easy, or it make take a lot
of work. It depends where the AZTrackday number is set, the accuracy
of the masking and the color of the masking tape. Here are few suggestions
that can help you to get nicer photos:
Masking Tape: always try to keep the tape within
the shape of the head light or what else you have to mask. In other
words, trim it properly without exceeding the shape of what you
have to cover. Possibly, utilize a tape as close as possible in
color to the color of your bike.
AZTrackday number: possibly have the number on a
solid color area. Not on the wind screen. I suggest over the front
fender or over the masking tape covering the head light.
Below are four pictures to show what type of cleaning
and quality can be achieved cropping the photo and removing the
background and the masking tape from the original image:

Here is another
example of reworking. Customer did not like the angle the photo
had been originally taken. He requested to change the angle from
left to right, to remove the masking tape and possibly to restore
the original head light on the front of the bike.

Step #1
Tilt angle of the photo readjusted. Background
has been added. Photo has been slightly cropped to enlarge rider.
|

Step #2
Masking tape and AZTrackday sticker removed. Front
of the bike repainted. Photo has been color corrected. (Customer
wanted a print of this too).
|

Step #3
Final image. Head light has been added to the
front of the bike.

Theses are three additional examples
of image improvement.

This an other example or rework
and "cheap repainting" of a bike (without going to an
expensive body shop). The bike in the picture had a lot of scratches
mostly due to multiple fightings with the asphalt.
